Once you have successfully completed the qualifying pre-license course final exams, you will receive an email with your official Course Completion Certificate along with a link to download the state examination application. From the day you mail your application to the DRE, it usually takes 6 to 8 weeks for DRE processing and to get a state exam test date. This waiting period can vary depending on how many applicants are applying for the state exam at any given time.
