The Chamberlin Real Estate School has been helping people launch a new real estate career for over 70 years. As a family business, we value and enjoy personal interaction with our students. In the age of impersonal out-of-state online schools, you will always speak to one of our expert staff that will guide you through the licensing process.

To understand the Chamberlin mission, it is helpful to look
back at the illustrious history of our family business.

THE CHAMBERLIN STORY

A Humble Start – 1949
The roots of the Chamberlin Real Estate School began at the height of the post World War II economic boom. The school started in 1949, when Carol Chamberlin, one of the few female real estate professionals of the time, recognized the need to help aspiring professionals looking to enter the real estate industry. Carol envisioned the Chamberlin School as a place offering help to those studying for the state licensing examination, much as it is today. Her vision and entrepreneurial spirit set the standard
The Second Generation - 1959 to 1989
Carol’s son George served as an Airforce veteran stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. George went on to work for Lockheed Martin as an electrical engineer. In the midst of this multi-faceted career, he never strayed too far from the family business. George obtained his real estate broker’s license and took over the school in 1959. His wife Louise was an indispensable partner through much of this era by managing the school’s staff, front office, and accounting. George and Louise together transformed the school into the trusted resource that it is today.
The Third Generation - 1989 to 2022
George and Louise’s son Mark Chamberlin became a real estate broker and listed California real estate for three years. Mark officially took over the family business in 1989. His wife Abby soon after joined the company by filling the role of office manager and has been an integral part of the school’s growth. Mark recognized the potential of the internet and the impact it would have on education, especially professional education. As a result, in 1997, just as the internet was taking hold, Chamberlin became the first DRE approved real estate school to offer online courses.
The Next Generation - 2022 to Present Day
Marty Zankich grew up in the Santa Clara Valley, eating apricots from the small orchard his family farmed for two generations. After college, Marty joined the world of banking, helping numerous small businesses obtain working capital and funding commercial real estate transactions. From time spent talking and learning from entrepreneurs, the Zankich family found its way into commercial real estate where it now owns and operates self storage. While searching for more property to purchase, Marty crossed paths with Mark Chamberlin, and the transfer of the Real Estate School from one local family to another local family came to be. The rich history and tradition of the Chamberlin School will continue to live on for generations to come.

While our courses are online and convenient, our commitment to
customer service remains strong.
